Autumnal Dining in Antibes

28 Sep 2018

Antibes through the changing seasons has captured the imagination of many an artist, poet and writer over the years.

While many of the restaurants in Antibes pack up their chairs and tables and close their doors at the end of the summer season – those that stay open are some of the most loved by Antibians. To save you wandering the streets in the cold we’ve put together a selection of off-season cafes and restaurants that pride themselves on Autumnal dining in Antibes with their warm lighting, comfortable seating and the contented murmur of guests enjoying some of the very best food and drink the town has to offer.

Cesar Caffe

When you’re in the mood for a lavish lunchtime crêpe after a morning’s shopping at cours Masséna, head down the road to Cesar Caffe. This friendly café is located in a busy part of town and offers both window seats and street tables, giving you the best view of the hustle and bustle of the locals. Enjoy a coffee with your lunch, or a pichet of Normandy cidre.

Le Brulot

The wood-fired oven of Le Brulot not only warms the restaurant for its jolly guests – it fills the air with the mouth-watering smells of roasted meats, crispy duck and fresh fish. A meal here is rustic and delicious, and best washed down with a bottle of French red. This is hearty Autumnal dining just as it should be.

Les Cinq Epices

Tucked away behind the main square, a taste of Morocco awaits. Le Cinq Epices’ chef lovingly prepares everything, from tagines to cous cous to chutney, according to traditional recipes from his homeland, and proudly serves them with Moroccan wines and mint tea. Once found, this cosy little restaurant, beautifully decorated to give a truly Moroccan experience, is never forgotten.

L’Arazur

In the heart of the old town, the door and windows of L’Arazur glow soft pink as night falls. Inside, lovers and friends pore over a short but perfectly formed menu of dishes lovingly prepared with the freshest local ingredients. This is a restaurant, not only renowned for it’s cozy Autumnal dining, but worth visiting again and again before the year is out.

Café Brun

Sink into a leather armchair with a liquor or a fine glass of red while you wait for your generously piled plate of charcuterie or salt cod fritters to arrive. Later on, watch one of Café Brun’s talented mixologists stir your martini to perfection. Duck into this little bar when the weather turns and you’ll never want to leave.
