In time for the arrival of the warm Provençal spring, th2designs have been preparing and styling the beautifully designed penthouse. At Parc du Cap, this is the second time we have had the pleasure of partnering with the top London interior design studio. So, to find out about the creativity behind the newly styled Parc du Cap penthouse, we caught up with th2designs.

Firstly, tell us about th2designs…

We are based out of our studio space in London’s Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour – a light, bright open plan space. Here, we produce eye-catching interior collections for private clients, large landed estates, and memorable show spaces for developers. Most importantly, we prioritise both quality and value in every project we work on, whatever the size. Our highly professional team approaches each project with the same level of infectious enthusiasm and energy. Therefore, producing the very best results for our clients.

Tell us about the latest Parc du Cap penthouse personality and style stamp.

The most important element from the outset was to create a zoned living space – making the best of the generous open plan area. These spaces often work better with the introduction of screening. For instance, through planting and floating walls. That is to say, such use of screening provides a visual break when you enter and look around the room. So, together with Parc du Cap, we created a fabulous floating wall – with a living area on one side and dining area positioned on the other. Therefore, creating a space that is still linked but feels separate at the same time.

Talk us through your creative process and inspiration for the penthouse design.

The South of France is full of glorious sights, colourful flora and fauna, impressive monuments and architecture, and more. As a result, we took time to absorb the incredible location of the property within Provence, as inspiration for our interior scheme. For example, the fabulous French Riviera views the penthouse looks out upon, and the natural environment beyond. Secondly, the local architecture and colour palette already existing in this part of France also played a key part.

What were the most important elements you considered when designing the penthouse?

It was important to consider the use of fabrics and materials in order to give the right level of luxury. But also combining this with practicality and ensuring they work with the Mediterranean climate. To clarify, not too many heavy fabrics which might feel ‘hot’ on a warm Riviera day. Our colour palette choice also came from considering the clarity of light from the natural landscape of the residence’s gardens. As well as the spectacular landscape of the Côte d’Azur.

Moreover, new lifestyle trends have emerged following the mad world we have been living in recently. Clients are increasingly looking to spend more time at home – a sanctuary from the outside world. In other words, the desire for calm and tranquil interiors are highly sought after. Therefore, this is the style and feel we embarked to achieve in the penthouse. So, anyone who walks into the beautiful, contemporary Parc du Cap penthouse will have an immediate sense of calm.

What would you say is the standout design of the penthouse?

One of the most unique features of the penthouse design is the palette of soft contemporary pastel tones used throughout. For example, a pastel yellow inspired by the local mimosa flower and pastel pinks. In addition, fantastic oranges picked up by the picturesque local old town housing. In fact, these are colours seldom expected in a South of France property. The wonderful colours give the penthouse a modern, understated, and luxurious vibe. And, the shades of the fabrics and artwork mirror the breathtaking changing colours of the outdoors – from sunrise to sunset.

What can a new penthouse owner most look forward to about living in the newly styled penthouse?

Certainly, this penthouse is as much about the outside space as well as the indoor space. So, we worked hard to link the style of the interior with a selection of beautiful outdoor furniture. Similarly, the furniture has been positioned in different zones of the generous terrace spaces to create a collection of ‘outdoor rooms’. The new penthouse owner can look forward to taking advantage of the true al fresco Provençal luxury living. In other words, enjoying a stunning space that benefits from the perfect all year-round climate for outdoor living. And, of course, the penthouse boasts a superb private infinity pool on the rooftop too!
